Miles Chevrolet's 2016 Suburban Review and Research
The Chevy Suburban has been a top contender in the automaker's lineup for over 80 years, and for the 2016 model year, it proves it's still a heavy hitter. Redesigned for 2015, the full-size SUV returns to the market carrying over all of the brand-new components introduced on last year's model. The incoming 2016 Chevy Suburban also has a wide array of upgraded features, newly available options and two all-new exterior paint colors that complement its updated styling. For details about each enhanced feature and the SUV's first-rate powertrain, read our 2016 Chevy Suburban review below.
One thing the 2016 Chevy Suburban in Decatur doesn't lack is power. Pumping out 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, the Suburban's EcoTec3 5.3L V-8 engine is strong and reliable. The displacement, which comes with direct injection, continuously variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation, is matched with a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission, featuring TapShift control, Auto Grade Braking and a Tow/Haul mode, which improves the SUV's fuel efficiency. For 2016, the Suburban produces 10-percent greater highway mileage (EPA-estimated 23 mpg) and 7-percent better city mileage (EPA-estimated 16 mpg city) with some help from the six-speed automatic.
When it comes to tech features, the 2016 Chevy Suburban in Decatur has plenty to offer. The new model comes with an upgraded version of Chevy MyLink that offers Apple CarPlay capability, smartphone integration, a new standard eight-inch touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and Connected Radio. An updated Driver Alert Package is also available this year, which offers Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist, a Safety Alert Belt, power-adjustable pedals and IntelliBeam headlamps. In addition to this, the full-size SUV comes with two new exterior paint colors for 2016: Iridescent Pearl Tricoat and Siren Red Tintcoat. Each shade enhances the SUV's appearance, giving it a pristine look.
