Equipped with front-wheel drive, all models of the 2017 Chevy Malibu in Decatur deliver excellent performance. The L, LS and LT each receive a 1.5L four-cylinder, delivering 160 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, along with a six-speed automatic transmission. These models produce an EPA-estimated 27 city, 36 highway and 30 mpg combined.
The 2.0L turbo four-cylinder fitted on the Premier trim now comes standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Generating 250 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, the powerplant is quite powerful.
A hybrid Malibu model is also available this year. It uses an electric motor, battery pack and 1.8L four-cylinder to deliver 182 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. Out of all the Malibu models, it is the most fuel-efficient option.
