Specs at a Glance

When it comes to selecting a truck, many people are passionate about their truck type. This may be because they have an affinity with their truck type or have no alternatives since they do not own other trucks. There is a lot to like about owning either a Silverado HD or an LTD.

Performance

The Silverado HD is powered by a standard 6.6L V8 engine that produces 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Heavy Duty also offers a 6.6L Duramax® Turbo-Diesel V8 engine, which generates 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Both engines offer impressive power and efficiency on the road in Conroe. The Limited offers standard rear-wheel drive with available all-wheel drive on both trims, while the Silverado HD offers standard rear-wheel drive with available four-wheel drive on both trims.

Appearance

The GMC Sierra HD is offered in SLE, SLT trims, and the top-of-the-line Denali trim level. The SLT includes 20-inch wheels and LED headlights and taillights. The Denali has unique exterior styling cues like a chrome grille, plus leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The Chevy Silverado HD is offered in Work Truck, LT, and LTZ trims, plus the range-topping High Country trim level. All Silverado HD models except for the Work Truck come standard with 18-inch wheels and LED taillights, while the LTZ gets 20-inch wheels, LED headlights, and chrome accents on the bumpers. The High Country adds unique exterior styling cues like a mesh grille insert, and body-color door handles, plus leather upholstery, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Features

The Silverado HD has a maximum towing capacity of 34,300 pounds (when properly equipped) compared to the LTD's 17,000 pounds. The Silverado HD also has a larger bed than the LTD (8 feet vs. 5 feet). Both trucks have a 6.6L V8 turbo diesel engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. However, they have different body styles: the Silverado is available in double cab and crew cab, while the LTD only comes in the crew cab.
