New Corvette Concepts To Inspire the Future of Corvette Design

Though neither of these bold Corvette concepts will be produced, they give an exciting peek into Chevrolet's design direction. The Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo showcase the imagination of Chevy's global design team and emphasize the marque's performance heritage.

Corvette CX Concept

The Corvette CX aims to be a street-legal supercar with a fiercely aggressive look. Its ultra-wide stance and chiseled bodywork demand notice. The most dramatic feature is the fighter-jet-style canopy that opens automatically as you draw near.

Beneath the bodywork is an AWD electric platform with four motors. Chevy lists output at a jaw-dropping 2,000 horsepower for intense acceleration. The lithium-ion battery is mounted low for favorable weight distribution, while four-wheel torque vectoring helps with handling. The Vacuum Fan System also routes air through the car's open bodywork to deliver enhanced downforce.

Inside, the Corvette CX centers the experience on the driver. Premium materials like forged carbon fiber appear throughout the cabin. A digital windscreen provides live performance readouts, and controls are integrated into the sporty steering wheel to reduce distractions.

Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a dedicated track machine featured in Gran Turismo 7. This mid-engine race car uses a twin-turbo V8 rated at 900 horsepower and revs to a remarkable 15,000 rpm. It also incorporates three electric motors to raise total system output to 2,000 horsepower, with renewable e-fuel ensuring sustainable operation without losing performance.

Because it's track-only, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo's interior is minimalist to save weight. Its heavily bolstered seats hold passengers securely during high-G cornering.
