While speed and performance are usually the defining traits of the Corvette, Chevrolet is shifting gears to focus on philanthropy. In honor of a 15-year collaboration with the American Cancer Society, the automaker has unveiled a pink Corvette to serve as the official pace vehicle for the NASCAR Cup Series, aiming to drive home the importance of ending breast cancer.
Chevrolet and the American Cancer Society Combine Forces
Chevrolet has been a staunch supporter of the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” initiative for a decade and a half. The pink Corvette will appear at Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway, designed to inspire fans and heighten breast cancer awareness. Chevrolet's donations are performance-based: $500 will be donated for every caution lap the pace vehicle completes (up to $25,000). Additionally, $1,500 will be donated for every Team Chevy driver who finishes in the top 10 (up to $25,000). In 2024, the caution lap program raised nearly $19,000, and the auction of the retired pace vehicle provided further aid to the American Cancer Society.
About “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”
The "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" initiative is a significant undertaking—it's the largest breast cancer awareness campaign, and it works diligently to bring people together through walks and fundraisers across the country. More than just raising money, the program is a real support system. It helps breast cancer survivors, the amazing people who care for them, and their families by providing financial assistance and fostering a strong, caring community.
