What's New for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD?

The Chevy Silverado HD gets some updates for 2022 that make it an even more impressive truck than in the past. The 2022 Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD have an expanded list of exterior paint colors with a new green color. You can also get a multi-function tailgate with the 2500 Silverado HD for the first time. The Silverado also gives you the option to get a power seat with the Custom trim level for the first time. This feature is available later in the model year.

2022 Silverado HD Trims and Features

While the 2500 and 3500 models have a similar lineup, there are some features with the different trims depending on your choice of model. The Work Truck, or WT, is the base trim for the 2500 and 3500. The WT has black exterior trim accents and black bumpers. A locking tailgate is standard, and you can also get trailering mirrors and equipment. Manually-locking doors are standard. The WT has Bluetooth that supports two devices. Smartphone pairing is standard, along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The WT has single-zone climate control. Vinyl upholstery comes with the WT on the 3500 HD, which also has two USB charging ports. Split-folding back seats are standard as well. The Custom on the 2500 has remote keyless entry and cloth seats. The LT adds additional features, including WiFi, Connected Services from Chevy, satellite radio, and a larger infotainment system. With the LTZ, you will get LED headlights and more chrome exterior accents. Leather seats are standard, and the interior is further enhanced with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and more USB ports. The High Country adds all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, power side steps, and more chrome touches. A Bose sound system is a notable upgrade as well.

2022 Chevy Silverado Horsepower

For power, the 2500 HD has a standard V8 engine with a 6.6L displacement. This engine produces over 400 HP and more than 460 LB-FT in torque. An automatic six-speed transmission is standard, and you get a turbo V8 diesel engine capable of 445 HP and a maximum of 910 LB-FT in torque. Four-wheel drive is optional with the Silverado HD, and rear-wheel drive is standard on most trims. An automatic 10-speed Allison comes with the 3500, and it is optional with the 2500. The 3500 can tow up to 36,000 pounds, and the 2500 tows 18,510 pounds.

Chevy Silverado Safety

The Chevy Silverado comes with trailer safety equipment on all trim levels, adding advanced trailer safety aids on the top models. The HD also has a camera with 15 views. Rear cross-traffic alert, parking assist, and lane change alert are available.
