Specs at a Glance
In 2021, the Chevrolet Tahoe is at its best yet with a facelift and new interior amenities. Across the board, the Tahoe gets sweeping changes to its appearance and interior. There's more technology to enjoy starting at the base level, the LS, progressing up to the High Country at the top of the line. The Tahoe is also more spacious in 2021 after receiving a new frame design. The Tahoe distinguishes itself among SUVs because it uses a truck-based platform, which also gives it a stable ride quality and a generous amount of storage space. This year's Tahoe gets more than 120 cubic feet of storage volume in the trunk, making it a leader in the class. While the LS and High Country share many of these new updates, the High Country also has a different engine and adds some additional creature comforts.
Performance
Both the Tahoe LS and the High Country have a tow rating of 8,400 pounds. Four-wheel drive is available for either trim level. The base engine that drives the LS is a 5.3L with eight cylinders. The base trim's engine provides decent power at 355 HP and over 380 LB-FT of torque. A 10-speed transmission comes with this engine and the engine powering the High Country, a 6.2L V8. The High Country's power output with its gasoline engine reaches 420 HP, which is matched by 460 LB-FT of torque. Optional for either is a V6 diesel engine capable of 277 HP.
Appearance
A new, broader front end and reshaped grille give the LS and High Country trims a fresh new look. Sculpted LED headlights are included with the LS, which also has 18-inch wheels. A hands-free liftgate is added to the High Country trim level, which also upgrades to 22-inch wheels for a more dramatic look. A distinctive front fascia and bronze-accented exterior also set the High Country trim apart from the others.
Features
This year's LS trim now comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A notable upgrade is a new 10.2-inch infotainment system. While the LS seats eight, you can get captain's chairs to seat seven as well for the High Country. Wireless charging and leather seats are standard with the High Country. This trim also adds a sunroof, which is available for the LS trim level. Both get a series of standard advanced safety technology.
